New website for Pablo's Horse Sanctuary
Most recently here at Equi Digital, we were able to help a fairly local charity completely overhaul their web presence and at the same time add serious value to their online fundraising endeavours.
Pablo’s Horse Sanctuary is an independent charity based just outside of Melton Mowbray and headed up by its dedicated founder Carole Fielding, whom is ably assisted by a team of dedicated volunteers.
They had a small Wordpress website up and running which provided a basic overview of the sanctuary, horses and also links to fundraising.
There was a clear need to provide Pablo’s with a new, fresh looking website, which not only provides a revised aesthetic, but also and most importantly allowed Pablo’s to move away from complete paper based commerce and fundraising.
Following an initial kick off meeting held at Pablo’s with Carole and key volunteer Sue, I began to draw up a key list of functional requirements.
We decided to build the new website on Wix, this was to ensure that following handover, Pablo’s themselves will be able to handle the day to day updating of the site and Wix provides a simple interface and user friendly editing tool which aids this.
Functionality also included:
Sponsor a horse/pony
Ability to sponsor a horse or pony online directly after viewing their relevant story.
Links to all relevant fundraising with prominent ‘Donate’ buttons across the site, encouraging direct donations via PayPal.
Social Media Integration
Facebook feed embedded directly on to the home page.
News/events email subscription
Vitally important was the addition of an online store, allowing Pablo’s to showcase their merchandise and provide online users the ability to purchase directly online via PayPal checkout.
Contact Us page with form for receiving enquiries.
The website was launched early April 2019 and was immediately well received by patrons and supporters of Pablo’s Horse Sanctuary alike with fantastic feedback and immediate user engagement and uptake.
As a result, several online orders have already been made directly using the online e-commerce functionality raising valuable funds for the charity and several enquiries have been sent directly ranging from offers of financial help, volunteering, goods and also a lady requiring a new home for a pony.
I look forward to continuing my collaboration with Pablo’s and already we are looking to add an events page with full calendar of events for the coming year.
